Board of Directors

Leadership

Billy Brown serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Brownstone Energy where he leads the Company’s solar energy projects within the emerging markets.

Before founding Brownstone Energy, Mr. Brown served as the Energy Educator at Fort Valley State University, where he ran the day-to-day operations for the Georgia Residential Energy Efficiency Network (GREEN) Project. Mr. Brown provided residential energy consumers with information about the economic and environmental benefits of energy efficient practices and available technologies as well as performed energy assessments/audits in the state of Georgia.

Prior to joining Fort Valley State University, Mr. Brown created a veterans nonprofit organization called SEGAMI (Soldiers Empowerment Group Assisting Military Individuals) to provide healthcare grants for the nearly 2 million uninsured veterans in the United States. Mr. Brown plans to develop a new Workforce Development Program for SEGAMI that will educate, train and employ homeless veterans as well as transitioning service members for the “green jobs” industry.

Mr. Brown holds 2 Bachelor’s Degrees and 1 Master’s Degree from Fort Valley State University.
